NEW ANNEX SERIES ITW AND ITC SAWS

Michigan Blades offers ITW board saws from 60" to 24" in diameter, ITCO cut off saws from 72" to 24" in diameter and inserted tooth edgers from 24" to 12" in diameter. We utilize 8670 modified steel that has been the standard for decades in the industry. 8670 is a high carbon steel that is high in nickel and chromium. This steel offers incredible durability while holding tension. The high nickel content allows the steel to move without cracking or shattering when a sawyer hits foreign material. This is the first building block in a high quality saw. 

Polishing

Our saws are spiral polished. This polishing method is important to reduce pitch build up on the saw and ultimately reduce heat in the blade. The reduction in heat allows the tension to remain consistent.  

CNC Milling 

Precisions milling is one of the most important steps in our process. We mill each pocket individually to ensure that every pocket is perfect. The bit seat must maintain a distance of under .002 from the V center.

Tension

Our hammermen are some of the best in the industry with decades of experience producing new ITW and ITCO saws. They are masters of their craft and understand what it takes to ensure the saws are put up to the customer expectations and specifications.   

Hammering

Hammering a saw isn't just about tension or leveling. It Is a combination of both and an understanding of how the steel will react. If you have too much or not enough tension in the wrong place the saw will not preform.  This can cause a saw to become quartered, fast or open. This is art with a hammer. 

Run Out Testing 

Michigan Blades utilizes state of the art technology that reads the deviation in a saw at the RPM of the customer's mill. We won't ship you your saw until it runs .020 or less. This ensures that the saws we produce are amongst the highest quality saws in the industry.  

Balancing 

Without proper balancing there is no way to ensure the saw will run to our extremely tight tolerances. Out of balance saws wear bearings faster and cut less efficiently than properly balanced saws. We are servicing an industry with ever-fluctuating markets: down time is money.  We owe it to our customers to produce the best every time on time.
